Gold Key!

Yesterday was the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards ceremony. I submitted a photographic portfolio with the theme of sky. You already knew this if you follow my photographs. The awards for Scholastic Art are Gold Key, Silver Key, and Honerable Mention. And I got a Gold Key! I find this really odd for two reasons...

1. My photo teacher didn't like half of the pictures in my portfolio, and she usually knows what the Scholastic people like.

and

2. Because I've been taking pictures for the sake of art since September, and I got a Gold Key!

My teacher told me about all of this like a week ago, but the awards ceremony was yesterday, so that's why I'm posting it. But then again, it's also because I'm bored.

Well, it's not like her advice that was bad. I'm pretty sure if I had gone with the pictures she was suggesting, I would have got something. Because really, it was only a difference between two pictures. Since it's out of eight pictures, two great pictures (because they were all awesome) wouldn't have made much a difference. But I really liked my photos, so yay. Thanks for the congrats. :D

yeah, they only closed the school because the buses wouldn't start. That's what they said on the news. So far, they still don't have a solution, so let's hope they don't start tomarrow! c:
